Amanda Blackwell counseling

My Services

As a licensed psychotherapist and Clinical Social Worker with over 21 years of experience, I offer compassionate and professional support to individuals navigating life’s challenges and personal adversity. I specialize in working with women on issues such as trauma, anxiety, life transitions, parenting, and spiritual growth.

My practice is informed by a variety of therapeutic techniques, including somatic resourcing (drawing on the mind-body connection), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and spiritual exploration. I work with adults in all walks of life—tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs and fostering a safe, supportive space for healing and personal growth.

I offer virtual sessions and walk-and-talk therapy for those interested.

Meet Amanda

I deeply respect and honor the diversity of every individual and strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all clients, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or belief.

I believe that everyone has the right to pursue happiness and healing, and I would be truly honored to work with you. Together, we can explore your path forward, addressing your challenges and supporting you as you embrace growth, change, and well-being.

My primary focus in therapy is to create a space where all clients feel valued,
respected, and safe. I consider it a privilege to support individuals as they
explore their hopes, dreams, fears, and anxieties, helping them to move toward a
life that is authentically aligned with their core values. Many of my clients
consistently report feeling truly heard and seen in our sessions together, which I
believe is essential to fostering meaningful growth and healing.

Insurance and Fees

I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (excluding BCBS Local plans), MedCost, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, United Health Care (UHC), and Medicare. I also offer a SuperBill to clients if I am considered out of network with their insurance plan.

If you prefer to pay privately or discuss a sliding scale rate, please reach out to me directly.

Good Faith Estimate: You’re entitled to a good faith estimate. This requires healthcare professionals to provide uninsured or self pay clients a “good faith estimate” for the cost of their health care prior to receiving services. This will show the cost of items or services reasonably expected at the time of your service. If you receive a bill for more than $400 above the estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Testimonials

I reached a point where I knew I needed support, and I was fortunate to come across Amanda’s profile online. I reached out to schedule our first session, and I’ve now been working with her for about four years. During that time, she has helped me grow and improve so many areas of my life. Amanda has supported me through depression, anxiety, and people-pleasing tendencies, while also helping me become a better spouse and mother. The work we’ve done together has been truly invaluable, and I can’t imagine where I’d be without her support. Truly, thank you for everything! My life has done a 180 since I first started working with you. -Megan S.
